IDblog ... an information design weblog

April 30, 2003
News from IIDj

Here's some news from the IIID front. First, there's a call for entries for a forthcoming information design sourcebook:

Graphic-Sha, a distinguished Japanese publisher in the field of design, and IIDj, the Institute for Information Design Japan, are cooperating in the publication of the [Information Design Source Book].

Asking experts in the field for outstanding examples of realized projects; we expect this book to become an internationally recognized reference not only for designers and design students, but also clients and all those who look for inspiration and help. The [Information Design Source Book] will be bi-lingual in English and Japanese, and distributed worldwide.

Following the very successful publication of the Japanese only [Information Design Reader] in March 2002, this will be the 2nd publication project of IIDj.

We will start accepting submissions at this site on May 15th; the deadline is June 15th.

Check www.iidj.net/IDSB for details. They also write:

You may also be interested to know about the international Information Design Summer Academy 2003, which IIDj is organizing in August/September for young professionals and graduate students in Japan.

See www.iidj.net/SA03 for details. Note that this server is a bit on the fickle side. I couldn't actually view either page, since my Mozilla browser is apparently not welcome: "This site can only be accessed by browsers which conform to the W3C Document Object Model." Hopefully you will have better luck!
