Eye of the storm

Isabel off North Carolina Here's an interesting perspective from the Washington Post; I've added the dot for DC's location. They've got some nice Flash pieces online that tell more of the story.

The building I live in is giving glow sticks to residents...smart idea (better than candles). Since the drug stores are gearing up for Halloween, I was able to get a bunch for my nieces...they'll get a kick out of it.

And I see that Mike's getting ready as well :).

thanks for the glow stick idea (we called 'em chem lights in the Army). We need 'em--been without power since Thursday 18 Sep at 2:30 p.m. Eastern. Two, three days without power is acceptable, but four or more is getting really, really old. Tempers are frayed here in Richmond, VA.
