Serendipity and rainbows

Co-worker and good bud Mike Lee and I seemed to have been of the same mind...we both captured rainbows during the same storm on Saturday:

rainbow from my balcony

Not sure if you can spot it, but that's the Washington Monument that is to the left of where the rainbow hits the horizon in the photo (about a half inch). And it's only in the photo that I see that there was a second rainbow that was slightly visible. Not sure how I missed that in the sky!

I snapped a full moonrise later that same evening:

I inherited my love of the distant view from my mom. What could be better than such a view from the place where you live?

Comments

"The distand view." That's a great term. I grew up in Utah, right on the western edge of the Rocky Mountains, and the distant view was what I grew to love there. I especially loved being able to drive onto a mountain at night and see the city lights for miles and miles. Now I live in North Carolina, where the distant view is rare. I sure miss it.
